Sexual Wellness in The Villages, FL

This community talks about everything except this. People compare knee surgeons at the pool and swap cardiologists over lunch, then go quiet about the one thing bothering a very large number of them. That silence leaves the question to the internet, where the answers are a pill by post or something with an exclamation mark after it. Most people who walk into our Lady Lake office about sexual wellness are not chasing their twenties. They are in a long marriage, or a new relationship after losing a spouse, and they want something that used to work to work again. Some tried the tablets and disliked the side effects, or were told not to take them because of their heart medication. Discretion is not a marketing word in a small community.

This page covers the The Villages market specifically. The neutral, sexual health page covers the clinical picture for both offices.

What this involves

Sexual wellness care at ChiroMed is non-surgical, drug-free treatment aimed at the blood-flow side of sexual function, for men and women. The main tool is GAINSWave acoustic wave therapy, delivered in the clinic by the same team that treats your back. There is no prescription, no injection and no surgery involved, and it is cash pay.

Most sexual difficulty that arrives with age is vascular before anything else. Erections and arousal depend on small blood vessels filling tissue quickly and holding it, and those are the same vessels affected by blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes and ordinary wear. Tablets widen vessels for a few hours and do nothing about the vessels themselves. Acoustic wave therapy takes the other route: low-intensity sound waves applied to the tissue to stimulate the body's own local repair and circulation response. The same physics sits behind the Omniwave shockwave we use on worn knees, and GAINSWave is the protocol and mark used for the sexual-health application. No anaesthetic, nothing inserted, and you drive yourself home.

How we treat it at the Lady Lake office

Cost, insurance and financing

This is cash pay. Sexual wellness care is not billed to insurance at ChiroMed, and you should read that here rather than discover it at the desk. Cost depends on the assessment and the course your case calls for.

The one published price

Consultation, Exam, X-Rays (If Needed) & Report of Findings: Only $47

What moves the cost

  • How many sessions your case calls for, decided after the examination
  • Whether the care is combined with anything else you are being treated for
  • The initial assessment itself

What a course includes

  • The private consultation and history
  • The examination and screening
  • The report of findings, before you commit to anything
  • Review against what you reported at the start

Payment: Cash pay. Chiropractic care at ChiroMed bills insurance; this line does not, and no third-party itemised billing is generated for it. Payment plans are available for self-pay care. Ask the front desk which plan fits your course of care.

Sex After 70, Answered Properly

Nobody in this market answers this question, so here it is.

Sexual function changes with age and much of that change is normal. Erections take more direct stimulation, may be less firm, and take longer to return. Arousal in women takes longer, and dryness and thinning tissue make comfort the limiting factor more often than desire. The National Institute on Aging describes these as ordinary physical changes rather than the end of a sex life.

Here is the line worth knowing. Gradual change is ageing. Sudden or total loss of function is a signal, and erections that disappeared over a few months usually point at circulation, blood sugar, medication or a hormonal issue. Those are findings, not fate. Being 75 is not the diagnosis.

What is treatable? Vascular contribution responds to vascular care, medication side effects can often be adjusted by the prescriber, and diabetes control changes the picture. Where the limiting factor is local blood flow, acoustic wave therapy is a reasonable non-drug option.

What is not treatable here: anything requiring a prescription, a hormone or an operation.

What This Care Addresses

For men. Erectile difficulty, erections that will not hold, reduced firmness, performance that changed over a year or two. Men told not to use oral medication because of nitrate or cardiac prescriptions are a large share of who asks.

For women. Reduced arousal and sensitivity, discomfort, and the changes that follow menopause. Almost nobody in either of our counties addresses this half of the market.

For both. A sex life that quietly stopped being part of the relationship, because there was never an easy way to raise it.

The Diabetes and Circulation Connection

This is the same patient we see for numb feet.

Diabetes damages small blood vessels and the nerves they supply. In the feet that shows as neuropathy. In sexual tissue it shows as difficulty with erection, arousal and sensation, often earlier. Same process, different place, which is why the conversation here asks about blood sugar, blood pressure medication and cholesterol first.

If yours is the first visible sign of a vascular or metabolic problem, finding it is worth more than any treatment on this page.

Why People Choose This Over a Prescription by Post

Somebody examines you. A questionnaire and a tablet in the letterbox screens nothing, and the most valuable outcome of a first visit here is sometimes a referral.

Nothing prescribed, nothing inserted. No interactions to weigh against your cardiac medication, no injections, no implant.

Named equipment. GAINSWave for the sexual-health application, Omniwave shockwave for the joints.

One clinician, one roof. The same practice treats the back, knees, neuropathy and metabolic health that feed into this.

Who This Suits, and Who It Does Not

Likely a good fit if: the change came on gradually; you have vascular risk factors such as blood pressure, cholesterol or blood sugar; oral medication is unsuitable or unwanted; you want no downtime; you will attend a course rather than expecting one visit.

Generally not appropriate if: function was lost suddenly, which needs investigating first; there is untreated infection or broken skin in the area; you have a penile implant; you are on anticoagulation; you have a cardiac condition not recently assessed; you want a guarantee, because nobody honest gives one.

Candidacy is settled at the examination, not on the phone.

Discretion, Meant Literally

In a community this size the fear is not the treatment. It is being recognised in a waiting room.

Your appointment is booked under the same appointment types as a back or a knee, the history is taken with the door closed, and because this care is cash pay no itemised claim goes to an insurer. The office also sits on US-441 rather than inside a village.

Why This Office

Dr. Justin Bergin, DC has 22 years in practice, and what he built here is unusual for this line: acoustic wave therapy under the same roof as spinal and knee decompression, Neuromed electroanalgesia, metabolic health and functional testing. Sexual difficulty in this age group is rarely isolated. It travels with blood sugar, circulation, weight, medication and sleep.

The wider detail, including the women's side, sits on the full men's and women's sexual health program, and the joint applications of the same physics under the same acoustic wave equipment used on worn joints.

What The Villages patients say

[TESTIMONIAL PLACEHOLDER: replace with a real patient review that mentions Sexual Wellness by name before publishing] Nobody writes a Google review about this, and no published review at either office names it. What is verifiable stands instead: 22 years in practice, Doctor of Chiropractic led, non-surgical, named equipment, and a clinic where your appointment looks like everyone else's.

I bless the day that Dr. Bergin started working on me. I have had long standing pain for so long. After just a few visits my pain left and I feel so good. He is very patient oriented and caring. I regard him highly.

The Villages questions

Tap a message for the honest answer. Call The Villages (352) 915-7150

Can a 75 year old man get hard?

Yes, very often. Age by itself does not end erectile function, and the National Institute on Aging is clear that sexual activity continues for many people well into later life. What changes is that erections usually take more direct stimulation to achieve, may be less firm, and take longer to return afterwards. That is normal ageing. What is not normal ageing is erections disappearing entirely or over a short period, because that usually signals a vascular, diabetic or medication problem that is worth investigating in its own right.

the clinic team
Do men with erectile dysfunction still feel pleasure?

In most cases, yes. Erection and sensation run on different systems, so reduced firmness does not usually mean reduced sensitivity, and orgasm is generally still possible. Where sensation itself has changed, the common culprits are diabetic nerve damage, prostate surgery or certain medications, and those are worth identifying because they point at different care. It is a question people are often too embarrassed to ask, and it deserves a plain answer.

the clinic team
How to stay hard without Viagra?

The honest list is shorter than the internet suggests. Address the vascular basics first, because blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, weight, alcohol and sleep all feed directly into erectile function. Review your medication with your prescriber, since several common ones contribute. Beyond that, the non-drug clinical option we offer is GAINSWave acoustic wave therapy, which targets local blood flow rather than producing a short-term effect on demand. Nobody should promise you it works for everyone, and we will not.

the clinic team
Does ED mean something is wrong with my heart or my blood sugar?

It can, and this is the most important thing on this page. The vessels that supply erectile tissue are small, so they often show trouble before the larger vessels of the heart do. Erectile difficulty is a recognised early marker of cardiovascular disease and of undiagnosed or poorly controlled diabetes. If your examination here raises that flag, you will be told to see your physician, and that advice comes before any discussion of a program.

the clinic team
Is ChiroMed an approved GAINSWave provider?

Yes. ChiroMed is an approved GAINSWave provider, and the therapy is delivered in-clinic at both of our offices, including Lady Lake. GAINSWave is a specific acoustic wave protocol rather than a generic machine setting, which is why the mark matters. It is worth asking any provider you are considering whether they use it and who performs the sessions.

the clinic team
Is this covered by insurance?

No. Sexual wellness care here is cash pay and we say so up front rather than letting you assume otherwise. There is a practical upside in a small community, which is that no itemised claim for this care goes to a third-party insurer. Chiropractic care at ChiroMed does bill insurance, and if you are being treated for something else at the same time those are handled separately. Payment plans are available for self-pay care.
